The university has partner dormitories where students can stay during their studies. However, dormitory accommodation is not guaranteed — placement is carried out on a first-come, first-served basis. If no rooms are available, students may stay in hostels or rent private apartments.

The university offers several educational programs taught in English: three Specialist degree programs — General Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy, as well as three Master’s programs — Public Health (Epidemiology track), Biology (Innovative Drugs track), and Biotechnology (Pharmaceutical Ecology track).

You must provide the original versions of the following documents:

Passport and its notarized translation into Russian.
Education certificate with consular legalization or an apostille. (Documents issued in the Russian Federation do not require legalization, an apostille, or recognition.)
Notarized translation of the education certificate into Russian.
Certificate of recognition of foreign education (issued by Main Expert Center — Glavexpertcenter). Information: nic.gov.ru/en/proc/nic

All documents issued abroad must be legalized either through consular legalization or by obtaining an apostille (for countries of the Hague Convention).
Legalization must be done for original documents, not copies.

Each country has its own requirements for legalization and recognition of educational documents.

The university has a preparatory course, where students study Russian language, biology, chemistry, and physics.
Training in this program can be used as preparation for studying in Russian-taught degree programs (although it is not mandatory), and it also helps students adapt more easily to life and academic work in Russia.

The academic year at the Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University begins on September 1 and ends in accordance with the schedule of the state final certification.

Sechenov University offers preparatory courses for international applicants who wish to enroll in degree programs. These courses include both language training and subject preparation in the disciplines required for the student’s future specialty.

This exam is mandatory. It is conducted to assess your level of Russian language proficiency, even if you are starting from zero. The results of the Russian language exam do not affect the final admission decision.
